ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) - Enterprise is another step closer to being the safest it can be.

The city's Insurance Service Office Rating, or I.S.O. Rating has improved from a Class 3 to a Class 2.

ISO's rating scale goes from a Class 1 to a Class 10.

Class 1 representing exemplary public protection and Class 10 meaning the area's fire-suppression program fails to meet minimum criteria.

"Ever since I have been fire chief, all the city officials have told me they wanted my main concern to make sure we got the lowest rating we possibly could for the citizens of our town.. so that's been one of our goals and its been a constant every day thing that we have to constantly work on." -- Byron Herring, Enterprise Fire Chief

The new rating will be effective Summer 2018.
