Henry County is cleaning up after Hurricane Irma

HEADLAND, Ala. (WTVY) — Henry County is cleaning up after Hurricane Irma.

They had several trees and power lines down including a tree that fell onto a house on County Road 75.

E-911 Director Chad Sowell says the Red Cross was called in to help the family find temporary shelter.

Otherwise, downed trees and power lines have kept crews busy.

He says, "Our road crews have done a great job last night and all day today getting out and making sure roads are passable so the coordination effort between all the agencies in Henry County has been fantastic."

Sowell says that as of Tuesday morning there were around 1300 people out of power in Henry County

Alabama Power is working to get it restored.
