Henry County (WTVY)-- A Dothan woman was killed Sunday when the car she was driving struck another car apparently traveling in the wrong lanes of U.S. 431 in Henry County. Coroner Derek Wright identified the victim as 41-year old Kelli Marie Trammell.
Wright said it appears a car turned onto the four-lane highway from a county road headed south in the northbound lanes. When Trammell attempted to miss it, she struck a pickup truck traveling on the same side of the road then crashed into the car believed headed the wrong direction. The accident occurred near the intersection of County Road 107 about five miles south of Abbeville.
Three others were taken to a hospital for treatment but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Wright said Trammell was headed to church in Abbeville to join family who planned to celebrate her birthday---which was Sunday---afterwards. She was the step-daughter of Abbeville Herald publisher Eddie Dodd.
