Early Head Start families donate to Love in Action Ministries

Dothan, Ala. (WTVY)-- A Dothan ministry got a boost Friday with dozens of boxes of donations. The donations come from families who know what it's like to be down on your luck.

More than a thousand items arrived at Love in Action Ministries Friday. Everything from baby food to toilet paper was donated by parents served by the Early Head Start center. The donations were collected for two months by moms and dads with the Early Head Start Parent Engagement Project. Head Start provides services for families at or below poverty level.

Love in Action serves over 300 people every month. They typically see a shortage in the summer due to a number of factors. Love in Action Ministries President Ken Tuck says the large donation was very humbling.

"Seeing some of the children and parents and getting to meet them was great, and it's very humbling when people choose to donate to your organization and even more so when it's people in need themselves," said Tuck.
