Dothan, AL The Dothan City School Board is still searching for a new superintendent.

The board met late this afternoon to discuss the five candidates they interviewed last week.

After talking for about an hour, they decided not to name a new superintendent.

Chairman Mike Schmitz asked for an extension due to the upcoming holiday and wanting to have the right person for the job.

He said "We would have to have a contracted superintendent by next Monday, and with the holidays, that's simply not going to happen."

The Board of Education will meet again on Monday, November 27th at 5:00 P.M.

The meeting is open to the public.
