Disabled American Veterans mobile truck makes a stop in Enterprise

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) - A mobile service office made a trip to Enterprise Wednesday to help disabled veterans receive the claims they deserve.

Many veterans don't know how to get the benefits and services they've earned. That's why the non-profit, "Disabled American Veterans" offers help. In their mobile office, a veteran can receive counseling and claim filing assistance.

The mobile truck gives around 30 claims a day. John Ferguson, commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9 in Enterprise, says most veterans don't even know it's out there.

"Service member who are getting ready to retire need to come see us, we’ll give them a check list and they can use that as a guide to prepare their claims. Then when they get out we file those claims and make things happen, said Ferguson.

The mobile service office is free to all veterans and members of their families. You can go to the office at 704 Crawford Avenue in Enterprise. The mobile service office will be in Dothan Thursday at the Doug Tew Rec center from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM.
