Daleville Senior Center putting holiday donation to use

DALEVILLE, AL (WTVY) -- Thanks to a generous donation over the holidays, the Dale County Senior Center is doing more for their community.

A $1,000 donation from the Daleville Masonic Lodge is helping the center's Hungry to Help program feed seniors who may not be able to pay for a hot lunch.

Center Director, Laura Leger says the donation goes a long way in providing food to the seniors, "A senior can receive a hot meal everyday for lunch, it averages about 20 meals a month...I'm really thankful for the Masons that provided us this funding, but our community has really stood behind our senior center."

The donation from the lodge is also being used to help build a gazebo for the Senior Center.

If you would like to make a donation, you can contact Laura Leger at (334)-598-9197 or donate in person at the center on 18 Old Newton Road in Daleville.
