Commemorative Coins For 2018 Winter Olympic Games Revealed

Seoul, South Korea (NBC News Channel) - In South Korea, the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games Committee has unveiled commemorative coins.

The public unveiling took place at a ceremony in Seoul Thursday.

The coins feature winter sports such as skiing on a gold coin and short track speed skating, ski jumping, and luging on silver coins.

South Korean Olympic organizers say it's their time now that the Olympic torch in Rio has been extinguished.

Local pre-orders for the coins start on September 26th and continue until October 7th.

They will also be sold through six different overseas distributors.

The Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games will be held from Feb. 9th to 25th, 2018.
