Alabama Highway 27 resurfacing to begin Tuesday

ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) — An Alabama Department of Transportation project on Alabama Highway 27 from the Dale County line to U.S. Highway 431 will begin on Tuesday, July 18, weather permitting.

The project will consist of safety widening, planing, resurfacing, and traffic stripe. Safety widening is a two-foot widening of the shoulders.

There will be lane closures throughout the project. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the construction zone and to plan accordingly as delays are expected.

ALDOT awarded the project to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, Ala., at a cost of $1,969,880.08 with 55 working days. The project is expected to be complete by the end of September 2017.
