ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) -- Two Henry County women who worked at an Abbeville daycare face seven years in prison after pleading guilty to seven counts each of Aggravated Child Abuse.

Mary Malone Clark and Dixie Lane admitted they spanked children using a flyswatter and belt, made them spend the day in wet pants, and forced them to lick up spilled drinks. Police tells us the children ranged from two to seven years old.

Clark, now 74, owned J and M Daycare and Lane worked there.

After their 2016 arrests, the daycare lost its license and shut down
Clark and Lane are asking for probation in lieu of prison.

A hearing on the matter is scheduled next month.

Circuit Judge Larry Anderson also ordered them to pay fines, court costs and other fees.
