Vicksburg Mississippi Crest Preparations

Nerves are on edge in Vicksburg, Mississippi where the Mississippi River is headed for a historic crest in the next 24 hours.

This flood wall is being re-enforced to hopefully hold back the waters.

The river is expected to peak at least one foot above the 1927 record and could stay elevated for up to one month.

A snake advisory has been issued for the state because of the high waters.

Many residents of Vicksburg have evacuated their homes and headed for higher ground.

Just wait till the waters weaken the flood wall and the waters burst through with a mighty roar, You shall see what mother nature can do. This old farmer said that flooding does not hurt the land. That the flood waters bring nutrients to the soil. So we shall see if Mother Nature has her way to refresh her soil.
