SHORT TERM (TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY)...An upper RIDGE centered
over the Gulf of Mexico will build northward through Wednesday
with heights rising over the southeastern states. The surface
ridge parked along the east coast will gradually weaken and shift
offshore AS well. This should SET the STAGE for some significant
warming over the next couple of days.
The primary issue for today will be how quickly the LOW clouds
clear out. Latest satellite imagery and surface OBS show an area
of clearing pushing into the northeastern zones. However, it is
uncertain as to how quickly this clearing will spread southwest.
Guidance slows the leading edge of the clearing slowing its
progress over the next several hours with clouds hanging in over
the Florida zones into the early afternoon. With the potential for
the clouds to hang on, have hedged closer to the slightly cooler
MAV guidance for HIGH temperatures today.
OVERCAST skies should not be an issue for Wednesday and Thursday

temperatures in the mid to upper 40s are expected tonight with
lower 50s expected Thursday NIGHT.
