The most noticeable sign of tropical storm Isaac coming this way is the wind.
Area businesses had to put away outside furniture for fear it would start blowing away, but officials say wind isn’t their only concern.
Although tropical storm Isaac is no longer heading straight toward the bay county area, EMA officials are still preparing.

“Rain and tropical force winds are our main concern, you know we are very saturated right now from months of rain and so we are in a vulnerable situation from that standpoint.” Emergency services chief Mark Bowen said.

But rain isn’t the only concern, the bands from Isaac are huge, and area officials think wind can cause some damage.

“It's not going to take much wind to put trees on power lines. We are concerned with prolonged power outages that we may have.” Bowen said

“3 foot maximum storm surge coming in high tide is certainly something that will cause some issues for some people.” Bowen said.

Bowen says everyone should have one gallon of water per person, per day available to them incase power does go out.
There isn’t a mandatory evacuation.
However officials say if you don’t feel comfortable staying in your home they will help you move to a shelter.
