Tropical Storm Mariam, in the eastern Pacific Ocean, will likely continue to weaken over the next day or so.
As of 4am Central Time Thursday morning, Tropical Storm Miriam was almost 400 miles south of the southern tip of Baja California. It’s currently moving north/northwest at 6 miles per hour.
Although the storm will continue to approach Baja California, it is expected to continue to lose strength over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Forecasters with the National Hurricane Center say Miriam could become a remnant low in a day.
However, even weakening, it could still produce potentially dangerous surf and swells around Central and Southern Baja California.
