Australia Socked by Ex-Cyclone, Could Regain Strength

Five days of heavy rainfall and the town of Ingham is underwater. Flood waters are still rising.

Travellers are stuck with roads cut off to the north and south...residents in Mackay say the storm has been worse than cyclone Ului.

This is the damage from 140 kilometre an hour winds. All thanks to the remains of ex-tropical cyclone Oswald.

It's now gaining strength and could reform into a category one cyclone over the coming days.

The big wet will hit the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane later today although it won't be as severe.

South East Queensland is now preparing for a very wet Australia Day long weekend with rough seas.
