Members of the Grimes United Methodist church also took the time to help those in need at their 5th annual clothing bazaar. It's not your typical bazaar.
The doors opened at 8 this morning and piles of clothes were laid out for families to look through and take free of charge.
The items were donated by church members and others in the community. The congregation does it every year just in time to get the kids some new back to school clothes.
“It gives you chill bumps. They thank you because you have given them things that they need and couldn't otherwise afford. With the economy the way it is, its a blessing to us more than it is to them" says Kay Wingate, member of The Grimes United Methodist Church.
All items that were left over were donated to the Wiregrass Humane Society's thrift shop to help animals in need.
