Do you wonder if this Global Warming thing has been spun out of control by the media and now politicians? Are you a skeptic about the human influence on something you believe is a natural process? Or for that matter, perhaps Earth’s climate might actually be cooling? Over 31,000 American scientists have signed a treaty saying, “Global warming poses no crisis to Earth”. At least in terms that this process is natural and something the planet has experienced before. Stuart Chase (1888-1985), an American economist and engineer trained at MIT, is famous for writing the following statement: “For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t, no proof is possible.”

Calls are mounting for President Barack Obama to fire James Hansen, the controversial figure in charge of climate studies at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Hansen has a record of allegedly doctoring temperature data to hype his argument that global warming is a crisis.

It is the first time the green lobby has decided to embrace the technology after years of opposition.

Climate alarmists are advocating political action which will “punish” billions of people. The harm suffered by the poorest will be severe. Is it asking too much that climate scientists check each other’s work before they make grand pronouncements of their theories to the rest of us? I believe that a scientist with a moral conscience, a bit of self-awareness and some knowledge of the dangers of hubris would realize his moral duty to be as sure as he could possibly be before demanding that billions of poor people suffer from his advocacy. We get studies filled with lazy, wild guesses which boggle the mind; “the dog ate my homework” excuses to reasonable requests for data; acceptance of pathetically bad studies without question; and failures of quality control for data that are jaw-dropping in their implications. The alarmist scientists keep saying that they have the science on their side. But they never replicate studies. They never check each other's work. They say they don't have time to bother with quality control. And when others start checking, the mistakes keep piling higher and higher.

For the record, although you will never read this in The New York Times, the planet is NOT warming. It is COOLING. It has been cooling for a decade now and it is no secret to meteorologists who track the day to day temperatures or climatologists who study long term trends. Carbon dioxide is not a “pollutant” as the Supreme Court has ruled. How can the Earth’s second most vital gas, other than oxygen, be a pollutant? Not one single piece of vegetation on Earth could exist without CO2. Without vegetation, no animal life including our own could exist on Earth.
