...Heavy Rain, Below Normal Temperatures Over The Eastern U.S....

An Unusually Active Weather Pattern Will Bring Wet And Cooler Conditions To The Eastern U.S.

A Front Draped From The Central Plains To The Southeast Will Be The Focus For Active Weather Through The Period. A Hot And Humid Airmass In Place South Of The Boundary Will Support Numerous Showers And Thunderstorms Today And Tonight Across The Southeast And Lower Mississippi Valley.

North Of The Front, Across The Ohio Valley And Mid Atlantic, Slow Moving Showers Will Deposit Heavy Rainfall. A Similar Scenario Will Play Out Tomorrow, But With Less Activity Across The Plains As High Pressure Moves In. Heavy Rain Will Move Into The Northeast By Tuesday As The Main Surface Low Moves Through The Great Lakes.

In The West The Monsoon Season Continues. An Upper Level Trough Approaching The West Coast Will Provide Additional Forcing To Spark Showers And Thunderstorms Across Much Of The Great Basin. Precipitable Water Values Of One To Two Standard Deviations Above Normal Will Allow For Locally Heavy Rainfall Across The Region.
