US Short Range Weather to Jan 8

***Light Precipitation Over The Eastern U.S.***

***Rain And Mountain Snow For The West Coast***

***Remaining Very Cold For The Inter-Mountain West***

Over The Next Few Days, Most Of The Nation Should Be Relatively
Dry And Void Of Any Significant Storm Activity.

Over The Northeastern Quadrant Of The Country, Scattered Snow Showers Are Likely Through Sunday As An Upper-Level Impulse Moves Through The Region. Rain Showers Are A Good Bet For Coastal Areas Of The Southeast As A Stationary Front Remains Stalled Over Florida.

A Couple Of Low Pressure Systems And Associated Fronts Are
Expected To Affect The Western Third Of The U.S. Through Monday
With Coastal Rain And Mountain/Inland Snow. There Will Likely Be
Two Areas Of Precipitation As One System Moves Near The Mexican
Border, And The Other One Moves Into The Pacific Northwest.

Elsewhere, The Bitterly Cold Temperatures That Have Been Observed
Over Much Of The Inter-Mountain West Lately Should Modify Somewhat Over The Next Few Days, But Still Remaining Quite Cold. Poor Mixing In The Lower Valleys May Result In Haziness And Foggy
Conditions Through Much Of The Daytime Hours.

The Reverse Is True For South Florida Where Above Normal Temperatures Should Continue Through At Least The Beginning Of Next Week.
