Strengthening Complex Surface Storm System Across The Plains,
Midwest, And Great Lakes.

Across The Northwest, Moderate To Heavy Elevation Snows Are Expected In The Cascades And Northern Continental Divide, Which Are Expected To Fade With Time As The Upper Trough Moves Eastward Away From The Area, Acting The Stabilize The Atmosphere.

With The Main Storm System, Snows And Thunderstorms Will Spread
Across Arizona And Colorado Today Into Early Tuesday. As It
Emerges Into The Plains, This Surface System Will Be Composed Of A Train Of Surface Lows, Which Will Strengthen With Time And Streak
Up A Cold Front As The Parent Trough Deepens.

North Of The System's Warm Front, An Unstable Atmosphere Is
Expected To Lead To Thunderstorms With Freezing Rain Across The
Upper Mississippi Valley And Great Lakes Tuesday, Which Will Move
Into Southeast Ontario, Quebec, And Portions Of Northeast By
Wednesday Morning. Moderate Snows Are Expected Across South
Dakota And Northern Minnesota Tonight Within The Deep Cold Air
Mass On The System's Northwestern Periphery.

Ahead Of The System, A Cool Air Wedge Is Expected To Remain Stubbornly Across The Mid-Atlantic States Through Tuesday, Keeping Cloudy Skies And Light Rain In The Forecast, Before Fading On Wednesday Due To A Strengthening Low-Level Southwesterly Flow And Increasing Mid To High Level Cloudiness.
