Moves Across The Southern Plains Towards The Lower Mississippi
Valley This Christmas Day.

The System Is Pulling In Arctic Air From The North And West... Resulting In The Development Of Snow In Oklahoma And Areas Of Freezing Rain To The East In Arkansas.

The Low Is Forecast To Track Steadily East-Northeastward And Continue To Intensify Over The Next Couple Of Days As It Tracks Across The Tennessee Valley...The Appalachians...And Into The Mid-Atlantic States By Thursday Morning.

A Swath Of Snow And Freezing Rain Is Expected To Spread Quite Rapidly East-Northeastward To The North Of The Storm Track... Reaching New England By Thursday Morning. A Band Of 6 Inches Or More Of Snowfall Can Be Expected From The Central Plains Eastward...Increasing To Over A Foot Across Western And Upstate New York.

To The South And East Of The Storm Track...Warm And Moist Air Lifted Ahead Of A Strong Cold Front Will Lead To The Development Of Strong Thunderstorms...Some Of Which Are Expected To Be Severe.

Meanwhile...The Weather In The Western U.S. Continues To Be Active
And Unsettled As Another Broad Scale Pacific Low Pressure System
Moves Onshore. Over A Foot Of Snow Can Be Expected In The High
Terrain Such As The Sierra Nevada And Cascades Through Thursday
Morning.

The Entire System Is Forecast To Slowly Weaken With Time As The Precipitation Penetrates Farther Inland Across The Intermountain West/Great Basin...Reaching The Rockies By Thursday.
The Precipitation Still Covers A Large Area In The West On Thursday Although It Should Become More Scattered And Lighter In Nature.
