US Short Range Weather to Dec 18

Numerous Showers And Storms For The Deep South***

Inclement Weather Over The Great Lakes And Northeast***

Active Weather Pattern For The Western U.S.***

With The Complex Low Pressure System Over The Central U.S. Moving Towards The East Coast By Monday, Weather Conditions Should Be Deteriorating For Many In The Eastern Third Of The Nation.

Some Of The Most Active Weather Is Expected For The Deep South And Into Southern Texas, Where Convection Is Likely Ahead Of A Surface Cold Front. Some Of These Storms Could Be Strong To Severe Along With Locally Heavy Rainfall.

Over The Great Lakes And Extending Into The Northeast, Periods Of
Light Rain Are Likely Between Now And Monday As The Parent Low Of
The Aforementioned System Moves Eastward. A Wintry Mix Of
Freezing Rain And Sleet Is Likely For Locations Close To The
Canadian Border, And Snow For Southern Ontario And Quebec.
However, This Is Not Expected To Be A Major Winter Weather Event
Since There Will Be Limited Moisture With This System.

It Will Be More Of The Same For The West Coast Through Monday As
Two More Shortwaves And Associated Surface Fronts Affect The
Region. These Are Expected To Be Fast-Moving Systems, However
They Will Likely Bring Periods Of Moderate Rain For The Coast And
Inland Snow, Along With Gusty Winds. The Central And Northern
Rockies Are Also Expected To Receive Snow As These Systems Move
Through The Inter-Mountain West.
