US Short Range Weather to Apr 13

...An Impressive Spring System Will Continue To Track Across The
Eastern Half Of The Nation And Bring Multiple Hazards...

Currently On Wednesday Afternoon...A Frontal Boundary Extends From The Mid-Atlantic Across The Ohio Valley And Into The Southern
Plains. This Boundary Will Continue To Evolve And Push Eastward
Through The Short Term Period.

By Wednesday Night And Into Thursday...Snow Will Fall North And Northwest Of The Main Surface Low. Specifically...Most Of The Snow Activity Will Begin To Move Out Of The Northern Plains Wednesday Night And Spread Into The Mid-West And Upper Great Lakes. Light To Moderate Snow With Embedded Heavier Activity Can Be Expected. Additionally...A Transitional Zone Between The Snow And Rain Where A Mix Of Ice And Sleet Will Concentrate Mainly In The Great Lakes Region.

To The South Of The Wintry Precipitation...Moderate To Heavy
Rainfall And Embedded Thunderstorms Will Focus Along The Frontal
Boundary. The Heavier Activity Will Move Out Of The Middle And
Lower Mississippi Valley By Wednesday Night And Begin To Affect
The Tennessee Valley And Southeastern U.S. By Thursday. A
Combination Of Strong Mid To Upper Level Dynamics Along With A
Plethora Of Moisture From The Gulf Of Mexico Will Give Way To
Flash Flooding And Severe Weather Threats. These Threats Will
Continue Throughout Thursday As The System Continues Its Eastward Trek Towards The East Coast.

By Friday Morning...Most Of The Precipitation Shield Will Arrive In The Mid-Atlantic And The Southwestern Portions Of The Northeast.

Further West...Another Mid Level Trough Will Push Through The
Pacific Northwest And Bring Moderate Rain With High Elevation Snow
To The Area Throughout Wednesday And Into Wednesday Night. This
Trough Will Swiftly Move Into The Great Basin And Rockies...Which
Will Diminish Most Precipitation Activity Along The Northwest
Coast. The Evolution Of This System Begins To Get Complicated By
Thursday Afternoon...However A Mix Of Rain And Snow Will Fall
Along The Rockies Through Thursday Into Friday.
