***Arctic Cold Front Arriving For The Eastern U.S.***
***Relatively Quiet Weather Pattern Nationwide***
Perhaps The Strongest Cold Front So Far This Winter Is Forecast To
Drop Southward Out Of Canada Into The North Central U.S. This
Weekend.
Much Colder Temperatures Are Expected To Arrive Over The Upper Midwest And Northern Plains By Saturday, And Eventually Into The Ohio Valley And Great Lakes By Sunday.
A Secondary Cold Front Will Serve To Reinforce This Arctic Air Mass.
High Temperatures Behind The Front Will Likely Be Under 20 Degrees For Much Of The North Central U.S. Along With Overnight Lows In The Single Digits Or Colder.
Bands Of Lake Effect Snow Are Also Expected To Develop Behind This Front, And Some Localized Areas May See Periods Of Heavy Snow Downwind Of Lakes Michigan And Superior.
Elsewhere Over The Continental U.S., A Dry Weather Pattern Is
Forecast To Continue Over The Next Few Days As High Pressure
Covers Much Of The Western U.S. And Into The Plains.
There Will Likely Be Some Air Stagnation Issues In Parts Of The West As The High Pressure Ridge Causes An Inversion To Develop.
There May Be A Few Showers On The East Coast Of Florida Through The Weekend, However Nothing Widespread Is Expected.
