US Preliminary Extended Weather thru Apr 13

Stuck With The Steadfast European Centre Ensemble Mean For The
Latest Medium-Range Forecast.

The Biggest Difference Between The European Centre Guidance And The Gfs/Gem Global/Ukmet Camp Is Over The Eastern United States, Where The European Centre Keeps The Polar Front Anchored Farther South As Per The Continuing Confluence Over The Saint Lawrence Valley.

It Is Very Unusual For Subtropical Air To Come All The Way Northward To The Saint Lawrence In Early April--Particularly In A Season Such As This Where High-Latitude Blocking Has Been So Extreme.

The Primary Weather Hazards For The Period Will Be Late-Season Heavy Snowfall From The Central High Plains Eastward Across The Southern Great Lakes, And Heavy Rainfall From The Mississippi Valley Eastward To The Appalachians.

The Pacific Jet Is Expected To Bring Valley Rains And Mountain Snows From The Northwest To The Continental Divide, With The Four Corners Only Unsettled For The First Couple Days Of The Forecast Period.
