TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- The city of Tuscaloosa is planning a week of activities for the second anniversary of the April 27 tornado outbreak that wiped out much of the town.

A groundbreaking ceremony is being held Monday for a $7.5 million building that will replace Tuscaloosa's sanitation headquarters, which was wiped out by a twister.

The next day, an area museum is opening an oral history exhibit that features Tuscaloosa residents talking about their experiences during the outbreak two years ago.

On Wednesday the city will dedicate a new community garden in the hard-hit Alberta community, where blocks of houses and businesses were leveled by the twister.

The city says the week of activities is meant to look ahead to Tuscaloosa's future while also recalling victims of the 2011 outbreak.
