SHORT TERM [Tuesday Through Wednesday Night]...
A shortwave moving across the southeastern states will interact
with a stalled frontal boundary on Tuesday, generating scattered
to numerous showers for portions of the forecast area. With
limited moisture return ahead of this system (dewpoints over the
gulf currently in the 40s), best rain chances will be right along
the boundary, which is expected to set up close to the coast. With
this in mind, have placed the highest PoPs near the coast in the
Panhandle, dropping off to the north and east. Temperatures will
likely be held down somewhat by extensive cloud cover, keeping
highs in the lower to mid 60s for most areas.
The shortwave will push to the east Tuesday night. However, with
the surface boundary lingering in the area, still may see a few
showers, especially near the coast.
These unsettled conditions will linger into Wednesday, as the
boundary is expected to move very little. Without significant
forcing, widespread rain is not expected. However, the stalled
front may provide just enough lift for widely scattered showers.
