Short Term Update

SHORT TERM [Thursday Through Friday Night]...
High pressure will settle across the region Thursday in the wake
of the strong system which impacted the region Christmas night.
This will maintain seasonably cool conditions Thursday and
Thursday night with highs holding in the mid/upper 50s and lows in the
lower/mid 30s, warming back into the lower 60s for high most
locales Friday. A weaker and fast moving impulse will bring a quick end
to the fair/dry conditions by the weekend. A low pressure area at
the surface will approach the wrn FL panhandle coast Friday night
and likely nudge coastal/warm front nwd into srn GA by Saturday
morning. The resultant increasing ascent will spread clouds and
increase PoPs late Friday afternoon from west to east across the
region into Saturday. We have boosted PoPs a bit late Friday and
especially into Friday night as GFS/ECMWF/NAM all paint
precipitation over the area from late Friday afternoon/evening
into Saturday.
