Tornadoes, a rare event in Japan, have struck twice in as many days north of Tokyo, the latest one on Wednesday (September 4).

Local media reported that at least two people were hospitalized and 13 homes damaged as the twister hit rooftops and hurled debris across the sky.

One vocational school class was interrupted by the tornado as students ran from the windows and debris crashed against it, said one student who filmed it happening but declined to be identified.

On Monday (September 2), a tornado ripped through suburban towns north of Tokyo, injuring 60 people, seven seriously, and damaging more than 1,000 homes.

The Japanese meteorological agency rated Monday's tornado an F2 on the Fujita scale, which is also used in the United States.
