Michelle Henry hopes she'll be able to return to her Fond du Lac home but is worried about what she'll find.
Henry and her family were among several people who had to spend Wednesday night in one of two Red Cross shelters set up after torrential rains dumped as much as 10 inches in the Duluth area.
Roads were washed out, a zoo was submerged and several people had to evacuate their homes. There were no immediate reports of serious injuries from the flood. But about a dozen zoo animals were killed.
Gov. Mark Dayton declared a state of emergency. He's expected to tour the area Thursday to assess the damage.
The National Weather Service says Duluth could expect to see rain again Saturday.
