Near Term Update

NEAR TERM [through Tonight]...
A dry cold front across the region is deliniated by a dew point
graident and a subtle wind shift. At 18Z the front was located
near Montgomery Al extending northeast though central Georgia into
western North Carolina. A band of high level cloudiness covers the
region south of the front. Widespread gusty northwesterly winds
are evident north of the front over Tennessee into north Alabama
and north Georgia associated with a 1036 mb high pressure system.
This high is plunging south into the Mississippi valley behind a
developing Alberta Clipper low, now located over New England. The
reinforcement of cold air from the arctic high will punch the weak
dry cold front rapidly south into Central Florida overnight
tonight, with only high clouds and no weather affecting our area.
