Near Term Update

NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...
A highly amplified long wave pattern persists across North America
this afternoon. The large ridge remains positioned over FL and the
Bahamas. Temperatures have once again risen well above normal into
the mid 70s to around 80 degrees. Overnight lows will maintain this
trend. Look for min temps to range from the mid 50s over the
Suwannee Valley to the lower 60s across our western zones. Surface
analysis shows a cold front extending from the western Gulf of
Mexico northeastward to the eastern Great Lakes. Isolated showers
have developed out ahead of the boundary over much of AL. Overnight
PoPs will range from as high as 50 in Coffee County to silent 10
across South Central GA and much of the FL Big Bend. We also
anticipate areas of fog to develop once again. The fog could be
locally dense. However, multilayer clouds are expected to keep the
dense fog from getting widespread enough for an advisory.
