NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...
Tricky POP forecast this evening as area of showers and isolated
thunderstorms ahead of approaching cold front will continue to
diminish with loss of heating and weakening upper support as
activity shifts east across our region. However, air mass remains
rather moist and sufficient lift should sustain chance POPs for most
of the region this evening with likely POPs out west in the FL
panhandle and sern AL. Deep layer Shear will diminish with ewd
extent this evening, however it will still remain sufficient for
some storm-scale organization and possible rotation with the more
robust cores. Combination of this possible organization and strong
low level winds may support isolated strong/damaging winds.
Although, overall severe threat is expected to remain limited.
Temperatures will be noticeably cooler around sunrise, especially in
sern AL, as the cool air behind the front slides in. Expect morning
lows in the lower 60s F around Cross City to the upper 40s F in sern
AL. Combined with brisk northerly winds, this will supply a much
cooler start to the day than what we have become accustomed too this
