NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...
High pressure to the north of the region will continue to keep
easterly flow in place. While overall the atmosphere is quite dry,
the low levels remain moist enough in the easterly flow to favor the
development of stratus overnight beneath the subsidence inversion.
Model guidance is somewhat split on the development of this stratus
layer, but our local WRF seems to be handling the current
observations well and will be used heavily for the overnight
forecast. This solution favors increasing clouds from the Gulf over
the Florida Panhandle and also building in from the east after
midnight. As a result, expect a mostly cloudy period just before
sunrise with clearing skies shortly after sunrise. Overnight
temperatures will be a little warmer due to the cloud cover,
generally in the mid to upper 40s.
