Much of Alabama, Part of Fl. Panhandle Under Tornado Watch

A Tornado Watch has been issued for the counties you see in red by the Storm Prediction Center. This watch lasts until noon Central.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of Alabama and parts of the Florida Panhandle under a Tornado Watch until noon.

Here's the text of the watch from the Storm Prediction Center:

"Tornadoes...Hail to 1 inch in diameter...Thunderstorm wind gusts
To 75 mph...And dangerous lightning are possible in these areas.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 140 statute
Miles east and west of a line from 25 miles southwest of Gulfport
Mississippi to Tuscaloosa Alabama.

Remember...A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for
Tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
Area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
Threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
And possible warnings."
