Long Term Update

LONG TERM [Friday through Tuesday]...
The upper pattern is forecast to reamplify late this weekend into
the weekend as a strong shortwave carves out a longwave trough
over the eastern states. However, models are continue to trend
towards digging the trough axis a bit farther east, thus keeping
the bulk of the arctic airmass well to the north. 00Z ECMWF
trended towards this warmer solution, which the GFS has had for
some time. With this in mind, have tended towards slightly warmer
temperatures in the extended period, which will result in slightly
below normal temperatures on Sat/Sun followed by a return to above
normal conditions early next week. A few scattered showers will be
possible with the frontal passage on Friday and Friday night, with
dry conditions then expected through early next week.
