NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...
Scattered convection mainly over our western zones will diminish
shortly after sunset with low temperatures in the lower to middle
SHORT TERM [Sunday Through Tuesday]...
The TUTT low will continue ewd across the Gulf of Mexico this
weekend, with flat ridging aloft persisting over our area. We can
expect widely scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms, especially Sunday, although these will be more typical for late summer and not widespread.
After a dry overnight period Sunday night, Monday will likely see less activity over the southern counties with 20-30% PoPs across FL possibly increasing to 40-50% PoPs into GA/sern AL.
Heat indices push well into the lower 100s with afternoon highs
in the mid 90s for the most part across inland locations both days.
LONG TERM [Tuesday Night through Saturday]...
Flat ridge aloft will transition into a broad trough in the Southeast with attendant cold front sagging swd into the region.
This suggests return to a wet pattern with a fairly good chance of rain for much of the mid to late week with temperatures near or just below normal each afternoons.
AVIATION [Beginning 18Z Saturday]...
Went with convective tempo groups for TLH, ECP and DHN for the
remainder of this afternoon and VCTS at ABY.
Did not see much in the way of fog or low clouds this morning so left out of all terminals overnight.
If fog develops, it with be patchy and briefly lower vsbys to MVFR levels around daybreak.
Both winds and seas continue to slowly fall tonight, and more typical
summertime conditions of light winds and low seas are expected into next week.
No fire weather concerns.
In the near term, area rivers will continue to slowly fall or hold steady. However, depending on how things setup, we could see rainfall increase area wide next week.
