Beach & Marine Forecast thru Mar 7

With plenty of cold and dry air still rushing out over the coastal waters...Small Craft Advisory conditions are now expected to continue over the nearshore legs through the overnight hours...with advisory level conditions lingering over the offshore legs until mid-morning on Sunday.

Winds and seas will then subside briefly through Monday...before increasing out of the south and southwest ahead of the next approaching low pressure system on Monday night and Tuesday.

Tonight
Northwest wind around 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Protected waters a moderate chop to choppy. A slight chance of rain.

Sunday
Northwest wind around 20 knots early...becoming 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet. Protected waters choppy becoming a light to moderate chop.

Sunday Night
Northwest wind around 15 knots becoming north around 10 knots overnight. Seas subsiding to 2 to 3 feet. Protected waters a light to moderate chop.

Monday
Northeast wind 5 to 10 knots becoming south around 10 knots in the afternoon. Seas 1 to 2 feet. Protected waters smooth to a light chop.

Monday Night
South wind 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots overnight. Seas building to 2 to 4 feet to the east of Apalachicola and 4 to 6 feet to the west. Protected waters becoming a moderate chop to choppy.

Tuesday
Southwest wind 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Protected waters a moderate chop to choppy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night
Southwest wind around 20 knots becoming northwest 20 to 25 knots and gusty overnight. Seas 5 to 7 feet building to 6 to 8 feet outside of Apalachee Bay. Protected waters choppy to rough. Scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Wednesday
Northwest wind around 20 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet except 3 to 5 feet in Apalachee Bay. Protected waters choppy.

Wednesday Night
Northwest wind around 20 knots becoming north at 10 to 15 knots overnight. Seas 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet. Protected waters choppy becoming a light to moderate chop.

Thursday
North wind 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Protected waters a light to moderate chop.
