A solid Small Craft Advisory event is ongoing across the marine area.

Seas will peak around 9 feet well offshore this evening.

Both winds and seas will gradually subside from later tonight into Sunday morning.

An easterly surge back to cautionary levels is expected on Monday.

Winds will remain elevated as they veer to onshore ahead of an approaching cold front.

The front will cross the waters Tuesday evening.

Offshore winds will increase to cautionary levels behind the front late Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

Easterly winds at cautionary levels are expected Wednesday night into Thursday.

Tonight
Northwest wind 20 to 25 knots becoming north around 20 knots in the late evening. Seas 4 to 6 feet nearshore and 6 to 9 feet offshore. Protected waters rough becoming choppy.

Sunday
North wind around 15 knots becoming northeast 5 to 10 knots in the late morning and early afternoon...then becoming onshore near the coast in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 1 to 2 feet nearshore and 4 to 6 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet offshore. Protected waters a moderate chop becoming smooth in the afternoon.

Sunday Night
Southeast wind around 10 knots. Seas 1 to 2 feet. Protected waters smooth to a light chop.

Monday
Southeast wind 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots in the late morning and afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 feet building to 4 to 5 feet in the afternoon. Protected waters a light to moderate chop increasing to choppy.

Monday Night
Southeast wind 15 to 20 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Protected waters choppy. A slight chance of showers.

Tuesday
South wind around 20 knots becoming west around 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Protected waters choppy becoming a moderate chop. A chance of showers with isolated thunderstorms.
