Beach & Marine Forecast thru Feb 13

Offshore winds will briefly rise to near cautionary levels this morning with the passage of a cold front.

After a lull this afternoon...winds will surge out of the east and then southeast tonight and are expected to reach advisory levels.

Winds will remain elevated across the western legs through Sunday night...but will drop off for a time across the eastern legs Sunday afternoon.

Moderate onshore winds are then expected for early in the work week.

An area of low pressure is forecast to track across the north central and northeast Gulf Coast Tuesday into Tuesday night.

Winds should increase once again as they veer to the southwest late Tuesday and west Tuesday night.

Winds will begin to decline in the offshore flow behind the front on Wednesday.

Northeast wind around 15 knots becoming east 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Protected waters a light to moderate chop.

Tonight
East wind 10 to 15 knots becoming southeast around 20 knots in the late evening. Seas 2 to 3 feet building to 3 to 4 feet nearshore and 4 to 6 feet offshore after midnight. Protected waters a light to moderate chop increasing to choppy.

Sunday
Southeast wind 20 to 25 knots. Seas building to 6 to 8 feet. Protected waters choppy to rough. A chance of showers.

Sunday Night
South wind around 20 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet. Protected waters choppy. A chance of showers through the night. Isolated thunderstorms after midnight.

Monday
South wind around 15 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Protected waters a moderate chop. A chance of showers with isolated thunderstorms.
