MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Schools in Alabama are delaying classes ahead of a winter storm that could pelt the state with freezing rain and snow.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow and sleet are possible in Alabama on Sunday night. The frozen rain could turn to snow later in the evening before ending. Wind chills as low as -4 degrees were predicted.
Dozens of schools around Montgomery have already delayed the start of classes for Monday, while others have also pushed back starting times for Tuesday and Wednesday.
