Long Term Discussion

(THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY). THE LONG TERM PERIOD IS DOMINATED BY MAINLY ZONAL FLOW ACROSS OUR REGION. THE GFS AND EURO ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT ON THE SYNOPTIC PICTURE WITH AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE DOMINATING OVER THE MEXICAN PLATEAU AND THE JET STREAM CUTTING ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY. WITH THIS FLOW MOST OF THE SHORTWAVES WILL PASS TO OUR NORTH...LEAVING US WITH A MAINLY DRY FORECAST THROUGH THE PERIOD WITH NO SIGNIFICANT WX SYSTEMS EXPECTED. GIVEN A RELATIVELY MOIST ENVIRONMENT REMAINING THROUGH THE WEEK...ITS NOT IMPOSSIBLE THAT A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS COULD POP UP WITH DAYTIME HEATING BUT FELT THE CHANCE WAS TOO LOW TO INCLUDE A MENTION. FOR THE WEEKEND...THE TAIL END OF A COLD FRONT WILL SAG INTO THE AREA ON SATURDAY AND WASH OUT PER THE GFS AND EURO SO INCLUDED SLIGHT CHANCE POPS SATURDAY. SUNDAY LOOKS DRY AT THIS TIME. TEMPS THROUGH THE PERIOD WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 80S TO NEAR 90 DURING THE DAY AND THE MID 60S AT NIGHT. THIS IS SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL.
