00Z WATER VAPOR AND H4 RUC ANALYSIS SHOWING A DEEP PLUME OF TROPICAL MOISTURE CONTINUING TO STREAM NORTHWARD OVER THE FORECAST AREA THIS EVENING. REGION IS LOCATED BETWEEN LARGE SCALE MID/UPPER LEVEL RIDGING OVER THE FLORIDA PENINSULA/BAHAMAS...AND LONGWAVE TROUGHING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND LOWER MS VALLEY. ONE WEAK AND FAST MOVING IMPULSE HAS BEEN APPROACHING FROM THE SOUTHWEST THE PAST FEW HOURS AND HELPED TO RE-INVIGORATE THE BAND OF SHOWERS/STORMS THAT HAS BEEN AFFECTING THE NORTHWESTERN HALF OF THE FORECAST AREA. AT THE SURFACE...PAINFULLY SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT EXTENDS FROM NORTHERN GEORGIA...SOUTHWEST TO THE CENTRAL GULF COAST. WITH THE HELP OF THE PASSING IMPULSE...HAVE SEEN SOME VERY IMPRESSIVE RAINFALL TOTALS AHEAD OF THIS FRONT THE PAST 6-12 HOUR. WIDESPREAD 2-3 INCHES HAVE BEEN REPORTED FROM THE CENTRAL FLORIDA PANHANDLE...NORTHWARD INTO SE ALABAMA AND PORTIONS OF SW GEORGIA. EVEN HEAVIER BAND OF 5-8"+ INCHES FELL SINCE MID AFTERNOON FROM WALTON COUNTY INTO PARTS OF WASHINGTON AND HOLMES COUNTIES. FURTHER EAST...A DRY EVENING IS UNDERWAY...HOWEVER RAIN CHANCES WILL BE INCREASING FROM WEST TO EAST THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT. SATELLITE AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS SHOW THAT THE FOG ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS HAS BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD...AND LOCALLY DENSE PROMPTING THE ISSUANCE OF A DENSE FOG ADVISORY. COMMUNITIES ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST... ESPECIALLY FROM SAINT GEORGE ISLAND WESTWARD CAN EXPECT TO EXPERIENCE THESE REDUCED VISIBILITIES AS WELL.
