THE LARGE SCALE CONUS PATTERN IS HIGHLIGHTED BY A STRONG UPPER TROUGH JUST OFF WRN CONUS...A RIDGE OVER WRN STATES...A TROUGH OVER CNTRL CONUS AND WEAK RIDGING OVER SE CONUS. DURING THE NEXT 12-24 HRS...THE WRN TROUGH WILL MOVE ONSHORE ALONG CA COAST WITH DOWNSTREAM RIDGE ANCHORED OVER THE ROCKIES...CNTRL TROUGH CENTERED OVER TN VALLEY AND NEAR ZONAL FLOW OVER SE CONUS ALLOWING IMPULSES/WEAK H5 SHORTWAVES TO MOVE EWD ACROSS NE GULF REGION. ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON...ANOTHER MID TO UPPER LEVEL SHORTWAVE IS FORECAST TO SWEEP ACROSS THE AREA KICKING ANOTHER WEAK SURFACE LOW ACROSS REGION BEFORE SCOURING OUT CLOUDS AND ENDING ANY CONVECTION FROM W-E TUESDAY NIGHT OR EARLY WED MORNING. UNTIL THEN... INSTABILITY ONCE AGAIN LOOKS FAVORABLE FOR SCATTERED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY MUCH LIKE ON MONDAY. THIS MAY BE ENHANCED BY A DEVELOPING 100 KT UPPER LEVEL JET ACROSS EAST CENTRAL AL AND GA PUTTING OUR NRN COUNTIES CLOSE TO FAVORABLE RIGHT EXIT REGION OF THE JET AND CLOSEST TO FRONT. OVERALL...SHEAR SEEMS A BIT TOO LOW TO SUPPORT ANY ORGANIZED SEVERE THREAT. THEN...HIGH PRESSURE...DRY CONDITIONS...AND WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL TAKE OVER ON WEDNESDAY. AT LOWER LEVELS... LARGE SCALE PATTERN HIGHLIGHTED BY BROAD HIGH PRESSURE FROM THE GREAT LAKES ACROSS OH VALLEY INTO MID ATLC REGION. MSAS SHOWS A WEAK 1013MB LOW IN SE ALA...JUST N OF JACKSON COUNTY WITH WARM FRONT EXTENDING ESE ACROSS CWA. THIS FRONT SHOULD DRIFT NORTH OVERNIGHT...MEANDERING OVER SOUTH CENTRAL AL AND THE FL PANHANDLE. ALONG AND TO ITS SOUTH...HIGH DEW POINTS WILL FAVOR AT LEAST PATCHY FOG. WITH FRONT MOVING LITTLE ON TUESDAY...A CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS REMAINS.
