Short Term Discussion

NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES ARE ANTICIPATED THROUGH THE MID-WEEK PERIOD AS A DEEP LAYER RIDGE REMAINS THE DOMINANT SYNOPTIC FEATURE OVER THE LOCAL AREA. THE SURFACE RIDGE AXIS WILL REMAIN OVER OR JUST NORTH OF THE LOCAL AREA WITH EASTERLY LOW-LEVEL FLOW CONTINUING. WEAK EASTERLY SURGES SOUTH OF THIS RIDGE AXIS WILL RESULT IN PERIODS WITH ENHANCED LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE AND CLOUD COVERAGE OFF THE ATLANTIC. THE SREF/NAM MODELS INDICATE REDUCED VISIBILITIES IN FOG OVER THE BIG BEND AND PORTIONS OF SOUTH-CENTRAL GEORGIA LATER TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE NAM12 CONDENSATION PRESSURE DEFICITS ALSO SHOW LOWER VALUES EXTENDING FARTHER WEST ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE PANHANDLE AND SOUTHEAST ALABAMA. TO EXPRESS MORE UNCERTAINTY WITH REGARD TO FOG AND LOW CLOUD COVERAGE...WE WILL INDICATE THIS IN THE SKY GRIDS OVER THESE WESTERN AREAS OF THE CWA DURING THIS TIME TONIGHT. THE ONLY OTHER CONCERN WILL BE RED FLAG CONDITIONS THROUGH THE AFTERNOON PERIODS OVER PORTIONS OF THE CWA AS THE DRY CONDITIONS PERSIST...MAINLY OVER NORTHWEST FLORIDA. THERE WERE SOME SLIGHT DIFFERENCES FROM THE DEW POINT GUIDANCE EACH AFTERNOON. THEREFORE A BLEND OF THE NUMERICAL GUIDANCE WAS TAKEN THROUGH THE PERIOD FOR DEW POINTS. SEE MORE ON RED FLAG CONDITIONS OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS BELOW. OTHERWISE...THE VERY PLEASANT SPRING CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE WITH TEMPERATURES REMAINING NEAR AVERAGE.
