Short Term Discussion

BY LATE TONIGHT INTO THE MORNING HOURS WE WILL TRANSITION TO THE SUBSIDENCE SIDE OF THE UPPER TROF AS IT BEGINS TO CUTOFF AND MOVE NORTHEAST ALONG THE EASTERN U.S. COASTLINE. THIS SUBSIDENCE WILL ACT TO CLEAR OUT ANY REMAINING CLOUD COVER FROM THE DAYTIME HOURS. AS THE LOW PULLS AWAY...WINDS WILL BEGIN TO CALM AS WELL BUT ARE STILL EXPECTED TO REMAIN ELEVATED IN THE 5 TO 10 MPH RANGE OVERNIGHT. SINCE THE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN UP OVERNIGHT AND CLOUD COVER THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF THE EVENING IS EXPECTED...WILL SHOW OVERNIGHT LOWS FALLING INTO THE MID TO UPPER 40S. THIS IS TRENDING SLIGHTLY ABOVE GUIDANCE WHICH WOULD PREFER TO HAVE US FALLING INTO THE LOW 40S. ON TUESDAY...ONE FINAL SHORTWAVE DIVES SOUTH OUT OF THE PLAINS ALLOWING A VERY AMPLIFIED PATTERN TO TAKE OVER. THIS WILL EVENTUALLY PLACE THE ENTIRE EASTERN U.S. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DEEP LAYER RIDGING. A SURFACE RIDGE WILL BUILD INTO OUR LOCAL REGION STARTING ON TUESDAY KEEPING US DRY AND HELPING TEMPERATURES TO GRADUALLY WARM BACK INTO THE LOW TO MID 70S. WINDS WILL FALL TO NEAR CALM OVERNIGHT TUESDAY ALLOWING TEMPERATURES TO FALL INTO THE MIDDLE 40S. BY WEDNESDAY THE SURFACE RIDGE SLIDES DIRECTLY OVERHEAD AND THE AFOREMENTIONED DEEP LAYER RIDGING BEGINS TO TAKE PLACE INCREASING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES INTO THE UPPER 70S THROUGH THURSDAY. THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THESE TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR THE COASTLINE WHERE THE AFTERNOON SEABREEZE IS EXPECTED TO KEEP TEMPERATURES SLIGHTLY COOLER. OVERNIGHT LOWS THROUGH THE PERIOD ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THE MID TO UPPER 40S.
