Long Term Discussion

By: NWS
By: NWS

(FRIDAY THROUGH NEXT TUESDAY)... RAIN CHANCES WILL SLOWLY COME TO AN END THROUGH THE DAY FRIDAY AS THE DRIER AND COOLER AIR QUICKLY FILLS IN BEHIND THE PREVIOUSLY DISCUSSED COLD FRONT ABOVE. PROGRESSIVE PATTERN WILL CONTINUE INTO THE END OF THE FORECAST PERIOD AS THE NEXT SYSTEM DROPS OUT OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS TOWARD OUR REGION BY SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY. STILL SOME DISAGREEMENT ON THE STRUCTURE OF THIS SYSTEM...HOWEVER WE SHOULD SEE OUR COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE AND ASSOCIATED RAIN/STORM CHANCES SUNDAY NIGHT OR MONDAY MORNING. ONCE AGAIN...DESPITE DECENT HEIGHT FALLS (ESPECIALLY THE ECMWF)...RETURN FLOW IS LIMITED AND A SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER EVENT SEEMS UNLIKELY. THERE IS AGREEMENT THAT THIS SYSTEM WILL USHER IN ANOTHER BELOW NORMAL AIRMASS FOR THE EARLY PORTION OF NEXT WEEK. GOING WAY OUT BEYOND THE OFFICIAL FORECAST PERIOD...THERE IS AGREEMENT IN THE GLOBAL GUIDANCE IN A LONGWAVE PATTERN TRENDING TO LARGE SCALE RIDGING...AND ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ALONG THE GULF COAST BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK. WE SHALL SEE.
