Short Term Discussion

PLEASANT WEATHER IS ON TAP FOR THIS EVENING AND TOMORROW AS TEMPS WILL BE MUCH WARMER THAN THE PAST FEW DAYS. LOW TEMPS SHOULD FALL INTO THE LOW 40S ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING AS SKIES WILL BE MOSTLY CLEAR. TEMPS WILL BE A FEW DEGREES WARMER IN URBAN AREAS AND NEAR THE COASTLINE. SATURDAY WILL BE SOMEWHAT OF A TRANSITION DAY BETWEEN THE HIGH CURRENTLY LOCATED OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN US AND THE LOW RAPIDLY APPROACHING FROM THE WEST. RETURN FLOW AHEAD OF THE APPROACHING SYSTEM ON SATURDAY WILL KEEP TEMPS COOLER ALONG THE COAST (MID TO UPPER 60S)...WHILE TEMPS WILL SOAR INTO THE MID AND UPPER 70S AWAY FROM THE COASTLINE UNDER MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. GET OUT AND ENJOY THE DAY BEFORE THE RAIN MOVES INTO THE AREA! SUNDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON WILL BE THE MAIN TIME FRAME FOR RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPROACHING COLD FRONT AND LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM. DUE TO THE SHELF WATERS BEING VERY COOL...IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO MODIFY THE AIRMASS ENOUGH TO PRODUCE SEVERE WEATHER. INSTABILITY WILL ALSO BE LIMITED SUNDAY MORNING AS THE LINE APPROACHES FROM THE WEST...HOWEVER...WE CANNOT COMPLETELY RULE OUT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS FURTHER AWAY FROM THE COASTLINE ON SUNDAY MORNING. NUMERICAL GUIDANCE IS SHOWING THIS COLD FRONT TO BE VERY QUICK...THEREFORE ...STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY BE AN INCH OR LESS IN MOST PLACES. THESE LOW RAINFALL AMOUNTS SHOULD NOT CAUSE ANY FLOODING ISSUES THIS WEEKEND.
