THU THROUGH MON. EXTENDED PERIOD WILL BEGIN WITH A DEEP TROUGH OVER THE EASTERN U.S. AND STRONG LOW PRESSURE MOVING NORTHEAST ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD. CHILLY AIR WILL BE POURING INTO THE DEEP SOUTH WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY AS COLD HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS SOUTH FROM THE NORTHERN PLAINS. THE DEEP NORTHWEST FLOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE END OF THE WORK WEEK ALLOWING FOR DRY WEATHER...BUT ONLY A GRADUAL WARMUP. FREEZES WILL BE POSSIBLE EACH MORNING FROM THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY AND AFTERNOON HIGHS WILL REMAIN BELOW NORMAL. GUIDANCE IN PRETTY GOOD AGREEMENT THAT DEEPENING WESTERN CONUS TROUGH NEXT WEEKEND WILL PUMP UP A REASONABLE RIDGE OVER THE EAST WITH A CHANCE FOR TEMPS TO RETURN TO NEAR NORMAL LEVELS.
