Short Term Discussion

ALTHOUGH LOW TEMPS WERE A FEW DEGREES WARMER THAN EXPECTED LAST NIGHT (ESPECIALLY TO THE SOUTH)...INITIAL INDICATIONS ARE THAT THE SOMEWHAT IMPOSING MID LEVEL MOISTURE AND CLOUDINESS THAT HAS DEVELOPED TO OUR WEST OVER LA THIS MORNING WILL BE SHUNTED BACK TO THE SOUTH INTO THE GULF OF MEXICO TONIGHT WHICH MAY ALLOW FOR SLIGHTLY BETTER RADIATIONAL COOLING CONDITIONS OVERNIGHT ACROSS THE INTERIOR OF THE FL BIG BEND AND PANHANDLE. ALTHOUGH THE VERY COLD LOW TEMPS OF EARLIER THIS WEEK ARE NOT AT ALL EXPECTED...THE USUAL COLD SPOTS LIKE TLH COULD DIP BACK INTO THE UPPER 20S...WHILE DOWNTOWN TALLAHASSEE SHOULD REMAIN IN THE 36-38 DEGREE RANGE WITH NEAR CALM WINDS. HOWEVER...SINCE THIS MOISTURE AND CLOUDINESS IS ALREADY REASONABLY CLOSE TO THE CWA AS IT IS...WILL MONITOR THE LATEST 12 UTC GUIDANCE CLOSELY FOR ANY SIGNIFICANT CHANGES. THEREAFTER...A NEARLY IDEAL WEEKEND FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES APPEARS IN STORE FOR THE REGION...AS HIGH TEMPS ARE FINALLY EXPECTED TO CLIMB BACK UPWARDS TOWARDS CLIMO LEVELS FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR (WHICH BELIEVE IT OR NOT...ARE ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE NEAR 70 DEGREES!). BY LATER ON SUNDAY...HOWEVER...MOISTURE AND SOME CLOUDS WILL BE ON THE INCREASE AS A NEW LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHES FROM THE WEST...WITH THE NEXT SIGNIFICANT CHANCE FOR RAIN EXPECTED ON SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY. UPDATE...THE 12 UTC GFS IS NOW DEVELOPING A SUSPICIOUS WARM FRONTAL LIKE FEATURE WHICH IS BRINGING IN POPS AND KEEPING HIGH TEMPS LOWER ON SUNDAY...BUT SINCE THIS IS NOT SHOWING UP IN THE OTHER MODELS YET...WILL PLAY DOWN THIS FEATURE FOR THE PRESENT TIME.
